Adam Stower achieved a first class degree from Norwich School of Art, followed by a Masters in Narrative Illustration from the University of Brighton. His strength is his beautiful drawing using a strong fluid line and witty and charming characterisation.
Adam has a rich imagination and loves fantasy and adventure stories. His first picture book SLAM! won the Norfolk Library Silver Award for Children's Books. He has also illustrated three stories by Timothy Knapman featuring Mungo in adventures with Pirates, Space Spiders and Dinosaurs. His picture book Silly Doggy! won the Wanda Gag Read Aloud Book award and was longlisted for the Kate Greenaway and the follow up Naughty Kitty! is just as clever with a twist in the tale. Troll and the Oliver was shortlisted for the Peters Books Award and the sequel Grumbug has five star reviews.
Adam has moved into younger fiction with a series about King Coo, a girl with a beard, lavishly illustrated and laugh out loud funny.
He is well known for his cover artworks for Gareth P Jones, he also tackles younger illustrations for bedtime stories and his own characterisation of Just William. He has created black and white illustrations for The Game of Thrones and Dinosaurs colouring books and has numerous works in the UK and USA on series fiction. Always adept at telling the story through pictures he perfectly entwines illustration and text to involve the reader in an immersive world.
